Shane Brereton

Senior Investment Consultant

Shane Brereton is a Senior Consultant at Genium Investment Partners, a specialist investment consulting and research house. Shane is responsible for leading client relationships and advice across our financial advice business and not-for-profit clients. He also contributes to portfolio construction, asset allocation research, and investment committee functions.

Prior to joining Genium in 2024, Shane worked across the investment advice and asset consulting industry. Most recently he was a Senior Investment Consultant at Mercer, leading client teams supporting advice licensees and endowment & foundation clients with key asset allocation, portfolio construction and manager selection decisions for seven years. Before Mercer Shane spent a majority of his career working at CBA where he worked in the Advice Research team providing a range of similar consulting and research services to financials advisers and licensees. Shane has also worked at Standard & Poor’s as a research ratings analyst and Challenger in key accounts.

Shane holds a Bachelor of Business – Applied Economics from Victoria University and a Diploma of Financial Planning from Deakin University.
